BOOK OF QUESTIONS by r a k e t a and invited contributors

'Book of Questions' is a publication produced by r a k e t a in collaboration with almost 40 contributors; artists, writers, architects, photographers and researchers. The book is presented in three different versions; as a paper book, as a wall paper and on the net. The publication is dealing with Professor Roger Connah's text ‘Life Behind the Screen 38 Questions from the Hip, formulated at a seminar at The Swedish Embassy in Tokyo, May 2002. The questions have served as a departure for various r a k e t a projects over the last couple of years and the book is an encounter with ideas seen, heard or read during this working process.

The wall paper book and the net book was released in October, 2004, 5-7 pm at 246 Café & Book in Aoyama, Tokyo (location: 1F Lattice Aoyama, 1-2-6, Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku Tokyo 107-0062). The paper book is planned to be released in the beginning of year 2005.

The publication is a part of 'How long do you intend to stay?', which is an art/research project run by r a k e t a, exploring the use of new technology in society and how this influences our perception of time, space, communication and meetings. The questions raised within the project departure from the group members' individual work as artists, architects, educators and researchers.

'Book of Questions' is a r a k e t a project supported by Filmform, Stiftelsen Längmanska Kulturfonden, Helge Ax:son Johnsons Stiftelse, Framtidens Kultur.

"Book of Questions" är en publikation producerad av r a k e t a i samarbete med närmare 40 medverkande konstnärer, teoretiker, arkitekter, författare, fotografer och forskare. Boken ges ut i tre olika versioner; som en bok, på rulle (som en tapet) och på nätet i digital form. Publikationen behandlar Professor Roger Connahs "Life Behind the Screen 38 Questions from the Hip", formulerade i samband med ett seminarium på Svenska Ambassaden i Tokyo i maj 2002. Frågorna har fungerat som utgångspunkt för en rad olika projekt som initierats av r a k e t a under de senaste två åren och kan ses som en samling idéer och tankar som figurerat under processens gång.

Boken i form av tapet och i digitalt format presenterades på 246 Café & Book i Aoyama, Tokyo (adress: 1F Lattice Aoyama, 1-2-6, Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku Tokyo 107-0062) i oktober, 2004. Pappersboken kommer enligt planerna att släppas i början av år 2005.

Publikationen ingår i "How long do you intend to stay?" som är ett konst-, forskningsprojekt som drivs av r a k e t a och som bl a undersöker användandet av ny teknik/nya medier i samhället och hur det påverkar vår uppfattning av tid, plats, kommunikation och möten. Frågorna som ställs inom projektet utgår från gruppmedlemmarnas individuella arbeten som konstnärer, arkitekt, utbildare och forskare.
