SEMINARS
There Is a Visitor # 3 takes place during the opening days of
the Venice Biennale - consisting of a short series of seminars
and meetings aiming - in theory and practice to explore alternative
geographies and perceptions of nature.

Together we investigate how our viewpoints, our actions and interactions with the surrounding world are mediated through mental and physical tools, such as art, media, culture, memories, dreams and longing.

Venice, in a vulnerable situation on an edge between culture (city) and nature (water), becomes a symbolic site for R A K E T A’s temporary urban research lab. Venice as a museum, topography, choreography, utopia, an interface between people and city, body and buildings, history and present times.

Can the museum be a street?
A wood, a mountain, an ocean?
Can we ever enter the past or the future?
What is the role of randomness?
The everyday?
Venice as a user manual?

WORKSHOP
There Is a Visitor # 3
also consists of the workshop Alternative
maps of Venice
. Together we create an alternative geography,
a space “in-between” which we hope can challenge (and
make use of) the physical conditions defined by the surrounding
environment.

Venice, the city museum
Venice, the dream on the edge of the sea
Venice, yearning for the impossible
Venice, the idea and vision
Everybody Gets Lost in Venice!

Hi Nikos !

I came back to Stockholm this week after staying at your hotel during one week - I wanted to ask you a question - for my filmproject - but I forgot;

have you ever seen snow in Venice?
how does that feel, looks like?
have you ever seen the canals with ice?
scating or skiing on the canals?
on the lsguna?

have you heard stories about that in the past?

Would be ever so happy if you have time to
send me a mail about those questions :D

Best & warm regards :)

Hello,

the last time in Venezia when the canals
were iced was about the 1925 !!!!

There was a strong snow tempest 2 years ago and was great, I send you some pictures.
